Measure the project—not the hoped-for pile
For each area, record the shape, internal dimensions where relevant, and finished depth. Calculate irregular sections separately and combine them.
Use the right depth for the job
A surface amendment, lawn topdressing, new root zone, and deep raised bed use very different depths. The calculator should not prescribe a depth without project context.
Carry the result forward
Use the calculated quantity with the correct product and then choose pickup or request delivery. An optional allowance should remain separate from the geometric requirement.
